PM Modi to inaugurate robotic gallery, 5-star hotel, railway projects worth Rs 1100 crore in Gujarat today


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will practically inaugurate projects worth over 1,100 billion rupees in Gujarat on Friday. These projects include three new attractions in a state-of-the-art science city, a Five star hotel above a train station, new trains, among others.

The five-star hotel is part of the refurbished Gandhinagar train station, while the science city in Ahmedabad has been expanded to include three new attractions: a water gallery, a robot gallery and a nature park.

5-STAR HOTEL ON A TRAIN STATION

The Ministry of Railways and the Gandhinagar Railway and Urban Development Corporation (GARUD) have jointly developed a five-star luxury hotel at Gandhinagar station.

The luxury hotel has 318 rooms and is spread over 7,400 square meters. It was built at a cost of Rs 790 crore.

  • The hotel is 80 meters high and was developed by the Gujarat government and the Ministry of Railways as an SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle).
  • Officials involved in the project said the hotel would host domestic and international guests who would attend seminars and conferences at the Mahatma Mandir, a convention center just across from the high-end hotel.

  • The station was provided with green building elements.
  • Care has been taken to ensure that it is also accessible to people with disabilities.
  • In January 2017, the renovation of the Gandhinagar train station and the construction of the five-star hotel began.
  • Officials say the redesigned Gandhinagar Station will be the country’s first refurbished station with airport-level amenities.
  • It has two escalators, three elevators and two underground pedestrian-subway connection platforms.
  • The new station has 7,600 square meters of space for future commercial developments such as multiplexes, shopping areas and food courts that can be operated in PPP mode.
  • The station also has a central AC waiting lounge with 40 seats and an art gallery with an LED wall display lounge.

PRESS ON THE OPENING OF 3 PROJECTS IN SCIENCE CITY

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also virtually inaugurate three new attractions that have been added to the state-of-the-art Science City in Ahmedabad.

These attractions are: a water gallery, a robot gallery and a nature park.

The water gallery was built for Rs 260 crore in Science City. It is India’s largest aquarium with 68 large tanks to display marine life from around the world. These include reef sharks, alligator fish, koi and black pacu fish, among others.

In total, this aquarium is home to around 11,600 fish and marine animals of 188 different species, an official said.

The gallery also has a 28 meter long underwater passage tunnel for viewing the marine life.

Another attraction is the Robot Gallery, which was built for Rs 127 billion and extends over 11,000 square feet.

It has over 200 robots of 79 different types, including humanoid robots with human-like bodies and machines that can interact with humans.

The natural park, which was built for Rs 14 crore, extends over 20 acres and features life-size animal statues.

The park has many beautiful features such as fog garden, chess garden, selfie points, sculpture park and open labyrinth (labyrinth). It contains an interesting maze for children.

In a series of tweets about the new attractions in Science City, PM Modi wrote, “Gujarat Science City is a place I’m very passionate about. When I served as the CM, I had the opportunity to work on developing it into a vibrant city hub for promoting science and innovation. “

“Tomorrow the Aquatics and Robotics Galleries and the Nature Park would be inaugurated. You would like to visit the nature park. It houses a fog garden, a chess garden, selfie points, a sculpture park and an outdoor children’s maze here. “

PM TO MARK SEVERAL RAILWAY PROJECTS

In addition to the inauguration of the renovated Gandhinagar train station, the five-star hotel and new attractions in Science City, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also highlight a number of rail projects for Gujarat on Friday.

These projects include:

  • A new weekly super express train between Gandhinagar and Varanasi (Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency).
  • A Mainline Electric Multiple Unit train service connecting Gandhinagar and Varetha in the Mahesana district.
  • The 54 km long, newly electrified broad-gauge line Mehsana-Varetha. This line runs through the hometown of PM Modi Vadnagar.
  • A 266 km stretch between Surendranagar and Pipavav train station.

PM OPENS THE NEW BUILDING OF THE VADNAGAR TRAIN STATION

Officials said prime minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a “new looking building” at Vadnagar train station. The building was remodeled at a cost of Rs 8.5 crore and given a Grade I listed appearance.

“Vadnagar Railway Station, which is part of the Vadnagar-Modhera-Patan Heritage Site, has been redesigned by Indian Tourism and given it a historic look with aesthetic stone carvings,” the Ministry of Railways said in a press release.

In the run-up to the Lok Sabha election in 2014, Prime Minister Modi claimed in his speeches that he sold tea at Vadnagar train station as a child.
