Police allege Raj Kundra made over 100 porn movies, isn’t cooperating with probe


Police have alleged that businessman Raj Kundra started producing prom films in August 2019 and has since made over 100 such films.

Raj Kundra is in police custody until Friday.

Mumbai police officers are privy to the investigation into the porn movie thug case, as well involved the businessman Raj Kundra have claimed that he has made over 100 porn movies in the past year and a half and that all of the electronic data is in terabytes (TB).

On condition of anonymity, sources in the Criminal Investigation Department said they had recovered “huge data” of pornographic films during their raids on Raj Kundra’s office in Andheri West, Mumbai.

“A lot of the data has been deleted and it will take time to find. The criminal investigation department is using forensic experts to get the data back,” said a source privy to the investigation.

The police have confiscated the server and the devices on which this data was allegedly stored.

Police officers claimed that Raj Kundra started making porn movies in August 2019, earning crores.

“His app (HotShots) had nearly 20 lakh paying subscribers who had accepted a membership to watch porn. He made healthy profit from this large subscriber base. He developed a mobile porn uploading app because it was more accessible than websites Said a policeman.

Crime Sources have also alleged that Raj Kundra is not cooperating with the police investigation.

“He doesn’t answer questions and also denies most of the allegations,” said a criminal investigation officer, adding that Kundra claimed that he never made any pornographic films.

The officials now claim they have “enough evidence” against him.

Raj Kundra and one other defendant, Ryan Thorpe, are currently in police custody until July 23. The criminal investigation department will turn to the court to extend their detention for further investigation.

Raj Kundra was found under Sections 420 (Fraud), 34 (Joint Intent), 292 and 293 (relating to Obscene and Indecent Publicity and Representations) of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) alongside sections of IT Law and Indecent Presentation of Women’s Law (Prohibition).
