Maharashtra President Bhaskar Jadhav on Monday suspended 12 BJP MLAs for one year for their recalcitrant behavior in the House of Representatives. For its part, the opposition has accused the president of abusing some of the leaders during the current session of the assembly.

A resolution was passed to suspend 12 MLAs for one year for abuse and mistreatment of the speaker in the chair.

The 12 suspended BJP MLAs are Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkalkar, Parag Alavni, Harish Pimpale, Ram Satpute, Vijay Kumar Rawal, Yogesh Sagar, Narayan Kuche and Kirtikumar Bangdia.

Spokesman Jadhav later stated, “When the house was adjourned, opposition leaders came into my cabin and cursed me in front of LoP Devendra Fadnavis and senior BJP leader Chandrakant Patil.”

Spokesman Bhaskar Jadhav has also appealed to the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and requested an investigation into the incident, while the opposition alleged the chairman had also abused opposition leaders.

Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis said: “The government made a story of the incident and suspended 12 of our MLAs. Our MLAs did not abuse the speaker. There was some heated discussion, but our senior member Ashish Shelar apologized on behalf of all MLAs to the Speaker Chair, Bhaskar Jadhav. The government later developed this plan to suspend our MLAs. We will continue our fight. “

The opposition caused an uproar over the OBC issue at the Maharashtra gathering. According to the opposition, the spokesman’s chairman Bhaskar Jadhav did not give them enough time to comment on the issue. The opposition had called for a boycott of the proceedings.

The suspended BJP MLA Ashish Shelar said: “This government has put the Taliban to shame. Offensive language was used by Sena MLAs in the speaker’s chamber. Even then we apologized to the chairman. Shiv Sena ke logo main mera saamna karne ki himmat nahi. I was just trying to correct the false facts that Chhagan Bhujbal gave regarding PM Modi. “
