The Indian contingent at Tokyo 2020 had a difficult Day 4 when a number of its high profile athletes crashed in the Olympics despite making an early impression at their respective events.
Monday started on a brilliant note as Bhavani Devi became the first female athlete from India to represent the nation in fencing and even won her Tunisian Nadia Ben Azizi 15-3 in her opening bout before beating world number 3 Manon Brunet, lost.
From then on, there was very little positive left for Team India as the archers and archers continued to disappoint, while players like Manika Batra and Sumit Nagal dropped out after making history at the games in the first three days.
