India’s Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav scored a 5-3 win over Chih-Chun Tang and Chia-En of Chinese Taipei on Saturday and reached the mixed archery quarter-finals at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Indians Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav were the first archers to take part in the mixed team event at the Olympic Games. This is the first time it has been featured at the Games and the Indian duo won it.
While Pravin Jadhav saw it all clear with his quick kills, it was Deepika Kumari’s serenity that helped India as the Indian star archer didn’t wither under pressure as India came back from behind to win the game.
This was the first time Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav competed together. The mixed teams are ranked according to the combined total of points of the top male archer and the top female archer of a single country with a maximum of 1440 points available.

Originally, Deepika was expected to work with her husband Atanu for the Olympics. However, Pravin Jadhav today surpassed his male compatriots and will now mate with Deepika Kumari. team up
