UP Block panchayat polls: BJP, allies claim victory on 635 seats; PM Modi congratulates CM Adityanath


The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies have won the post of block panchayat chief in Uttar Pradesh with more than 635 seats.

In a press conference on Saturday, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the poll results show the public’s support for the BJP, claiming it was due to the ruling government’s successful implementation of the centre’s plans and guidelines.

CM Yogi said: “Seven years ago PM Modi gave this country the slogan ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. The forged plans reached everyone. The state government and the organizations brought the plans to the people. The Panchayat election results are a living example of this. “

The BJP chief added that the party’s strategy in the Uttar Pradesh elections was effective as the BJP also led the Panchayat district president election.

Regarding the Bloc Panchayat chief polls, Yogi Adityanath said, “In 735 out of 825 the BJP had put up its candidates and 14 were turned over to the allies. In some places the two candidates who were fighting for a seat came from the BJP itself. We had a total of 90 places available. “

He added: “In the current trends, BJP is winning more than 635 seats. This number will continue to increase. “

The UP CM congratulated all winners and also thanked the BJP employees. “I congratulate all BJP employees who risked their lives during the Corona period to help others. This victory was thanks to those who received such great support, ”he said.

CM Adityanath thanked the State Electoral Commission for holding the Panchayat elections during the pandemic and thanked the Pradeshik State Police and Armed Police (PAC) for ensuring that the elections were conducted peacefully.

He also condoled the deaths of officials on duty who lost their lives to Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Swatantra Dev Singh, head of the UP BJP, said on Saturday, “The victory we have won is the effect of plans for CM Yogi. Law and order are tight. Women can even go out at noon at night. There is no corruption anywhere. BJP has achieved a record victory. That is the hard work of all party workers. “

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated CM Yogi Adityanath on his victory on Twitter.
