The underage girl was forcibly cremated by the defendant, who told her mother not to involve the police as this would result in a post-mortem in which the girl’s organs would be stolen.
The incident happened on Sunday evening.
A nine-year-old girl in Delhi was allegedly raped, murdered and forcibly cremated by the defendants only to make it more difficult.
According to police, the girl stepped out of her home at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday to fetch cold water from the crematorium’s water cooler, but never returned.
At 6 p.m., the priest of the crematorium, Radhey Shyam, and 2-3 other people known to the underage girl’s mother called her to the crematorium and showed the girl’s body, stating that she was drinking water from the water dispenser received an electric shock. Police said, adding that the girl’s mother said there were marks of injury on her wrist and elbow and that her lips were blue.
The priest and the other men asked the girl’s mother not to call the police as this would lead to a case, and eventually an autopsy, in which the girl’s organs would be stolen.
The girl was then cremated without her mother’s consent. She then raised the alarm and called her husband, and around 200 villagers also gathered in the crematorium and informed the police, officials said.
According to police, one case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and the priest was arrested. FSL and crime departments have been called in to collect samples / evidence on site, they said.
