The Afghan embassy in Tajikistan has called on Interpol police to arrest former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Afghan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib and Ghani’s former chief advisor Fazel Mahmood.
The arrest was requested after Ashraf Ghani, Hamdullah Mohib and Fazel Mahmood Fazly were accused of stealing the treasury. The Afghan embassy demanded that Ghani hand over the treasury to an international tribunal in order to restore the prosperity of the people, local media reported on Wednesday.
Ashraf Ghani, who fled the war-torn country when the Taliban took control of Kabul, is said to have landed in Oman after Tajikistan refused entry.

Several media reports suggested that Ghani may have fled to neighboring Tajikistan or Uzbekistan. However, his current whereabouts are unknown.
In the meantime, The Russian embassy in Kabul claimed that Ashraf Ghani fled the country in four cars and a helicopter full of cash and left some money behind not everything would fit in there, reported the RIA news agency.
Ashraf Ghani’s escape from Afghanistan at the time of the crisis drew flak from people and leaders around the world. In his defense, Ghani said he had left the country to avoid bloodshed.
In a Facebook post on Sunday Ashraf Ghani said he faces a “difficult choice” between the “armed Taliban”. who want to enter the presidential palace or “leave the dear land to which I have dedicated my life for the last 20 years”.

“The collapse of the (leaving) regime is most eloquently characterized by the way in which Ghani fled Afghanistan,” said Nikita Ishchenko, a spokesman for the Russian embassy in Kabul, as quoted by the RIA.

“Four cars were full of money, they tried to stuff another part of the money into a helicopter, but it didn’t all fit. And part of the money was left on the tarmac,” he is quoted as saying.
The academic and economist Ashraf Ghani was the 14th President of Afghanistan. He was elected for the first time on September 20, 2014 and re-elected in the presidential election on September 28, 2019.
The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001, but after the attacks on the United States on Sept.
