Abdul Baqi Haqqani, acting head of the Taliban Ministry of Education, reportedly said that under the Taliban rule, Afghan girls and boys will study in separate classes at universities in Afghanistan.
“Under the new system, girls have the right to study. But they can’t study with boys in the same room, ”he said according to a report from Khaama News.

The lecturers in Herat feared that, due to the low proportion of women at private universities, they could not afford to set up separate classrooms for women. This could be too several female students are disadvantaged of higher education.
