The chief secretary of Mizoram, Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, has announced that he will review the FIR against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma over the border dispute. Chuaungo claimed that he and CM Zoramthanga did not know about the FIR.

Mizoram’s government will review the FIR registered against Assam’s Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over recent clashes at the interstate border, Mizoram’s chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo said on Sunday.

Lalnunmawia Chuaungo said he and Mizoram Prime Minister Zoramthanga are unaware of the FIR launched against Himanta Biswa Sarma. “CM (Zoramthanga) and I didn’t know anything about it. CM told me to look around again. I will speak to the officers, ”said Lalnunmawia Chuaungo.

On the 30th of July Himanta Biswa Sarma has been booked along with four senior Assam Police officers charged with attempted murder and criminal conspiracy in connection with clashes on the border between Assam and Mizoram on July 26th Police (Headquarters) John Neihlaia.
