The Treasury Department has summoned Salil Parekh, MD and CEO of Infosys, for an explanation regarding ongoing disruptions in the new income tax e-filing portal.

Salil Parekh, whose net worth is estimated to be more than $ 30 million, was ordered to remain on the 23rd.

The Treasury Department further pointed out that the portal has crashed and has been offline since August 21.

The new and improved income tax portal went online on June 7, but its rollout has been marred by frequent disruptions. In view of the complaints expressed on social media by taxpayers, tax professionals and other stakeholders, the Treasury Secretary had previously reported the problems to the developer Infosys and urged the company to address these concerns.
