With prominent announcements by Prime Minister Modi on the 75th Independence Day such as Prime Minister Gati Shakti’s plan, the prime ministers of various states have also introduced various initiatives for citizens on the occasion.
ODISHA’S SMART HEALTH CARDS
The Prime Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, announced on Sunday that his government Smart health cards at 3.5 crore People in the state under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana. Beneficiaries of national and state food security systems, as well as Annapurna and Antyodaya initiatives, receive the cards, which women can claim up to Rs 10 lakh per year, and other family members receive the benefit up to Rs 5 lakh per year.

Patnaik noted that the initiative will gradually cover 3.5 million people in 96 lakh families, claiming that Odisha will be the first state in the country to provide such smart health cards.

GOAS FREE WATER
The Prime Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, has announced that the state will provide free tap water to all residents of the state from September this year. During a speech on Sunday’s 75th Independence Day, Pramod Sawant said that 16,000 liters of water per month will be made available to residents free of charge. The free water program will be launched from September this year, he said.
The announcement by CM Pramod Sawant comes days after Arvind Kejriwal, head of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), promised to provide Goans with free electricity if they come to power in the next general election.
PUNJABS PROMISE TO PROTECT THE STATE FROM PAKISTAN’S TERRIBLE DESIGNS
Punjab Prime Minister Amarinder Singh has vowed to protect the state from Pakistan’s “shameful plans” and said: “We want peace, but we will not tolerate aggression or attacks on our territory”. Any threat to the Punjab means a threat to all of India, he stressed. After unfolding the tricolor here on the occasion of the country’s 75th Independence Day, Singh turned to the people of Punjab and also promised to continue fighting with the farmers for the repeal of the center’s farm laws.
He called for extreme vigilance towards Pakistan, saying: “We want peace, but we will not tolerate aggression or attacks on our territory.” “We will teach them (Pakistan) the lesson of a lifetime if they try to be adventurous,” he added.
DESHBHAKTI CURRICULUM FROM DELHI
Delhi has become a model of governance, said Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal when announcing the introduction of the Deshbhakti curriculum in state schools from September 27th and yoga classes in residential areas from October 2nd. In his Independence Day speech at the Delhi Secretariat, Kejriwal paid tribute to freedom fighters as well as doctors, nurses and paramedics who lost their lives serving people during the coronavirus pandemic.
As a tribute to the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, the state schools in Delhi will teach the Deshbhakti curriculum from September 27, he said. “This will be an activity-based course teaching school children to contribute to the development of the country and to fire their ‘surya’ and be ready to even sacrifice their lives for the nation,” said Kejriwal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday outlined the roadmap for a new and confident India and announced a range of development programs including a groundbreaking Rs 100 lakh crore “Gatishakti” initiative to promote infrastructure and employment opportunities.
In his eighth consecutive address from the walls of the Red Fort on the 75th Independence Day, Modi called for the next 25 years to be glorious for India with “new thresholds, aspirations and dreams” in the run-up to the centenary of its independence from British colonial rule Rule.

Modi also said India is fighting the challenges of terrorism and expansionism with great courage and ingenuity. India does not hesitate to make difficult decisions and has the political will to do so.
