Usha Breco Limited, which operates cable cars under the brand name “Udan Khatola”, is offering free rides to Chandi Devi Temple in Haridwar for all tourists named Neeraj and Vandana from August 11th to 20th.
Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra made history on August 7th when he came to the first player in the country to win gold in an Olympic track and field event.
Vandana Katariya, the Indian ice hockey striker, who scored a hat trick at the Tokyo Olympics, is a resident of Haridwar.
Manoj Dobhal, UBL Head, Haridwar, said that tourists named Neeraj and Vandana can use the cable car for free to go to Chandi Devi Temple during this time.
“You have to show your Aadhar card to access the free service,” said Manoj Dobhal.

To honor Vandana Katariya for her performance at the Tokyo Olympics, Uttarakhand’s Prime Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has her as a Brand ambassador for the state department for the advancement of women and child development.
He also announced a cash bonus of Rs 25 lakh to Vandana Katariya.
Uttarakhand Sports Minister Arvind Pandey also visited the hockey player and her family in Haridwar’s village of Roshanabad and wished her a bright future.

The planning committee of the Indian Athletics Federation (AFI) organized Javelin throwing competitions on August 7th every year when Neeraj Chopra won gold in Tokyo that day.
Lalit Bhanot, chairman of the AFI planning committee, said they will sponsor and host javelin throwing competitions every August 7th to honor gold medalist Neeraj Chopra.
