When asked if the Taliban accept claims by ISIS-K that they are responsible for the August 26 double explosions, Zabihullah Mujahid said the Taliban were unsure about this. We are also investigating the August 26 twin explosions, he added.

At least 103 people, including 13 US soldiers, were killed in multiple explosions and dozens injured outside of Kabul airport. 13 US soldiers were killed, including 12 Marines and a Navy medic. Hours after the attacks, the Afghan branch of the Islamic State – ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) – claimed responsibility for the attack.

Zabihullah Mujahid further said that the Taliban accepts “no extensions” of the evacuation period after August 31st. He said that “life in the country is returning to normal” but the chaos at the airport remains a problem. “Amrullah Saleh makes propaganda against the country”

In response to former Vice President Amrullah Saleh’s allegation that ISIS and Taliban belong to the same group, the Taliban spokesman alleged that Amrullah Saleh was doing propaganda against the country.

The first vice president of the overthrown Afghan government, Amrullah Saleh, has claimed that he is the deputy president of Afghanistan in the absence of Ashraf Ghani.

“Whatever he [Saleh] says is wrong. We have good relations with powerful countries, “said Zabihullah Mujahid.

He went on to say that the countries that do not recognize the Taliban as official government are inciting against them.

“In fact, it’s unfair to say that people are scared. People are happy with us. There is no place for propaganda. We also want to end the war with the United States. If the US leaves, even ISIS-K will end, ”said Mujahid.
