In the midst of the Power struggle within the ruling Congress Party In Chhattisgarh, Health Minister TS Singh Deo said he was ready to take any responsibility and that the party’s high command would decide who should be the prime minister.

“I will fulfill the responsibility that the party puts on me. I became a member of the party by paying 1 and since then I have been going where the party sent me for 40 years,” said TS Singh Deo.

On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had held a three-hour meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singh Deo at his residence at 12 Tughlak Lane in Delhi.

Sources told India Today TV that the outcome of the meeting was: Bhupesh Baghel remains Chief Minister “for the time being”. However, Rahul Gandhi warned him of complaints from TS Singh Deo and urged both leaders to work together pending the final decision.

TWO and a half year formula

Earlier, health minister TS Singh Deo reportedly raised the issue of the split tenure of chief ministerial post that he was allegedly promised after the 2018 polls.

However, on Thursday TS Singh Deo said he was not aware of such a “two and a half year formula”.

“The party has never said anything about a two and a half year formula. It has been talked about in the media and has been speculated ever since,” said TS Singh Deo.

He added: “All of this is decided by the party high command and we follow the decisions of the party high command. The party will decide who will be the chief minister or not. [For now,] Bhupesh Baghel is the Chief Minister and our government will serve for five years. “
