The Apple Watch Series 7 is here. The latest Apple Watch model was unveiled at the company’s California streaming event. It comes with a familiar look like the Series 6, although it has a ton of new features. The first big visual change is a bigger, always-on retina display.
The Apple Watch Series 7 models will be available in the US this fall at a starting price of $ 399 (about Rs 30,000). For India, the company has yet to announce pricing, adding that all Apple Watch Series 7 models will be available later this year.
The Apple Watch Series 7 comes in five new aluminum colors. It has a quick charge feature that the company claims can charge the smartwatch from 0 to 80 percent in 45 minutes. It runs on watchOS 8 and includes features that we saw on the Apple Watch Series 6. It comes with a full keyboard with QuickPath. It comes with features like EKG and a blood oxygen monitor. Apple claims the Apple Watch Series 7 is the company’s longest-lasting Apple Watch ever.
The new watch comes with brand new dials and a fall detection function during exercise. Rumor has it that the new Apple Watch is available in sizes 41mm and 45mm, making it the largest Apple Watch model to date.
The Apple Watch Series 7 will offer users more screen space compared to the Apple Watch Series 6. The company confirms that the revised always-on retina display of the Apple Watch Series 7 is equipped with thinner edges that change the dimensions of the smartwatch minimally. Put in numbers, the company says the Apple Watch Series 7 has nearly 20 percent more screen real estate and thinner bezels at 1.7mm, which Apple says is 40 percent smaller than the Series 6. Contrary to the leaks it claims Apple Watch Series 7 comes with familiar rounded corners.
The company presented two new dials – Contour and Modular Duo. A big improvement should be the fast charging, which should now be 33 percent faster than the previous models.
The brand new Apple Watch Series 7 has IP6X certification for dust resistance and WR50 certification for water resistance. Like the Series 6 model, the new Apple Watch Series 7 is equipped with a heart rate sensor, EKG and blood oxygen.
