Earlier in the day, the prime minister spoke to the family of Dhanush, a NEET candidate who died by suicide in Salem Hours before the exam.

At the age of 19, Dhanush was a medical aspirant who wrote NEET twice but failed to get the required grades. Dhanush got very good grades in the 10th and 12th standard, said his brother.

“I was shocked and hurt when I heard of Dhanush’s suicide out of fear of NEET. I express my condolences to his family, ”said Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on Sunday.
