India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found the claim along with the video to be misleading. The viral video comes from a feature film entitled “The Clouds: A Story about the Taliban” by an Afghan filmmaker.
With the help of suitable keywords and a reverse search of the keyframes, we found that the video was cut from a more than an hour long film with the title “The Clouds: A Story about the Taliban”. The film was uploaded to the YouTube channel – Danish Association – on December 29, 2017.
We can see the video clip in question at the 47 minute 10 second mark.
According to the description of the original video, the film tells the story of “Taliban atrocities from Kabul to the Afghan border in Amu Darya”. The film was written, directed and produced by Sidiq Abedi, who won several awards for his film “A man dreams of a fifth woman”.

In addition to writing and directing the film, Abedi also played the role of the protagonist Shabgir in the film. He also portrayed several other roles in the film.

While watching the entire film, we discovered that the man pushed in the viral video is Abedi himself, who plays the role of Shabgir.
A comparison of several shots of Abedi from the film can be seen below.

Interestingly, we also found that Abedi’s “A Man’s Desire for a Fifth Wife” is the first Afghan film to feature in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The film was shown at the 44th IFFI in Goa in 2013.
A video of Abedi interacting with media at IFFI, uploaded to its YouTube channel by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, can be seen below.
Several pictures and videos have surfaced in recent days from Afghanistan showing the Taliban beating women as they held demonstrations for women’s participation in the new Afghan government. Several journalists were also reportedly beaten while covering the protests.
It is clear, however, that the video in question was cut from a feature film and taken out of context.
