The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange warning of moderate to heavy rain in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Saturday.
In the evening hours, heavier rains are forecast tomorrow. The weather man has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR for Sunday, predicting light showers.

Parts of the state capital and its adjacent areas got rain showers on Friday evening. The Met department has forecast thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rainfall in many locations in Delhi-NCR.
The IMD uses four color codes: green means everything is fine; Yellow means very bad weather. It also suggests that the weather could worsen, which could lead to disruption in daily life.
Orange Alert is issued as a warning of extremely bad weather, with the possibility of interruptions in commuting with road and canal closures and power interruptions. Red is when extremely bad weather conditions will certainly affect travel and power supply and pose a significant risk to life.
Earlier this month, Delhi recorded its highest rainfall in 19 years in September.
IMD’s senior scientist RK Jenamani said the September 1 rainfall was the highest September Delhi has seen in nearly two decades.
Since June 1, the start of the monsoon season, Delhi has recorded 987.7 mm of rainfall, 81 percent more than normal.
