Internet and cellular services were shut down in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir after a heavily armed group of terrorists attempted infiltration, authorities said Monday.

The infiltration attempt was reportedly made near the control line (LoC) in the Uri sector.

According to the authorities, an anti-infiltration operation has been underway in the area for 30 hours. Reinforcements were reportedly requested and a large area cordoned off.

According to the army, this is the second attempt at infiltration this year.
