The Trinamool Congress (TMC) announced on Sunday that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would be the party’s candidate for the upcoming election to the West Bengal Assembly in the Bhabanipur constituency.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) announced on Sunday that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would be the party’s candidate in the Bhabanipur constituency for the upcoming election to the West Bengal Assembly on September 30th.
The party also nominated candidates for the other two constituencies who will vote on the same day. Jakir Hossain will be the TMC candidate in Jangipur, while Amirul Islam will compete for the TMC ticket in Samserganj.

The Electoral Commission of India (ECI) had stated on Saturday that the poll in Bhabanipur and on 30.

The Bhabanipur poll will give Mamata Banerjee the chance to become a member of the state legislative assembly. During the election of the West Bengal Assembly earlier this year, she had lost in Nandigram to his former close associate Suvendu Adhikari, who was fighting for a BJP ticket.
In the meantime, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay from TMC had won against Bhababnipur. However, he vacated the seat shortly afterwards so that Mamata Banerjee could take part in a survey from there.
After the application of tacit pressure For days the TMC welcomed the EBI’s decision to hold the Bhabanipur survey.
“We are pleased that the dates have been announced. We had previously announced that Mamata Banerjee will compete from Bhabanipur. We will ensure that she wins by a record margin,” said senior TMC chief and Bengali cabinet minister Partha Chatterjee.
On the other hand, BJP has slammed the commission for his decision to conduct a survey in Bhabanipur only. The electoral body did not announce any dates for follow-up surveys in four other constituencies of the West Bengal Assembly in which the seats remain vacant.
