Niranjani Akhara Mahant Ravindra Puri claimed on Wednesday that the suicide note was not written by Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj, who was found hanging in his room at Baghambari Math in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.
Speaking to Aaj Tak / India Today TV, Ravindra Puri asked how a person can have head injuries after hanging?
“There were no protruding eyes or even protruding tongue, then how can he die by hanging?” Asked the Niranjani Akhara chief.
Ravindra Puri claimed the suicide note was not written by Narendra Gir and requested an investigation into the matter.
“Looks like the letter was written by a BA student,” he said.
The Akhara is also conducting an investigation to investigate the death of Mahant Narendra Giri.
The Akhara has also declared a seven-day mourning period and the decision to become President of Akhara Parishad will only be made after 16 days, Puri said.
“Balveer’s last name is Puri, not Giri. In the suicide note, Giri says Narendra Giri cannot make such a mistake,” he added.
For the inexperienced, Mahant Narendra Giri from Madhi Multani from Niranjani Akhara was. All of these seers belonging to this madhi use the surname Puri. The Baghambari math did not belong to this Madhi Multani, which is why Narendra Giri changed his surname from Puri to Giri after he became Mahant of this math.
