The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) called on Sunday in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar for a massive “Kisan Mahapanchayat”, in which the peasant organization is to start the “Mission Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand” to protest against Farm laws of the center.
Important announcements related to the Bharat Bandh call of the Kisan Morcha will also be made at the Mahapanchayat on Sunday.
Thousands of farmers from 15 states arrived at the Government Inter College (GIC) site in Muzaffarnagar takes part in the Mahapanchayat. The SKM said Sunday’s event will make Yogi Modi governments aware of the power of farmers, farm workers and supporters of the peasant movement.
“The Kisan Mahapanchayat will also prove that the nine-month peasant movement led by the SKM has the support of all castes, religions, states, classes, petty traders and all segments of society,” the SKM said, adding that the Muzaffarnagar Mahapanchayat is going to be greatest ever in the past nine months.

500 LANGAR SERVICES
Five hundred langar services, including a mobile langar system powered by hundreds of tractor wagons, have been launched to feed the farmers participating in the mahapanchayat. 100 medical camps were also set up to ensure medical care for the farmers participating in the gathering.
The SKM has particularly appealed to the citizens of Muzaffarnagar and neighboring districts to take the time to participate in the Mahapanchayat, which is addressed by prominent farm leaders, and to help the farmers from outside.
PROTEST IN PUNJAB CONTINUES
The peasant protest in Punjab by 32 peasant unions, which took place three months before the peasant movement began on Borders of Delhi in November 2020, continues.
During the recent agitation, several FIRs were registered by the Punjab government against protesting farmers. The Punjab farmers unions have now issued an ultimatum to the Punjab government, all before Aug.
The SKM stated that the opposition to the BJP leaders that continued in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan has now reached Himachal Pradesh.

PROTEST IN HIMACHAL, NASHIK
Farmers of Theog in Himachal Pradesh gheraoed Agriculture Minister Virendra Kanwar and Horticulture Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur for several hours about the sharp drop in apple prices. The farmers of Himachal announced a protest against “Corporate Loot” on September 13th.
On the other hand, farmers in Maharashtras Nashik protested by throwing tomatoes on the street after fetching a meager price of 2-3 rupees / kg. The SKM has said that the purchase of fruits, vegetables, agricultural products, forest products, milk and fish from MSP must be guaranteed, whether it is tomatoes or apples.
“That is why the peasant movement continues even after the ordeal of 600 peasants and will continue until the demands are met,” said Mokka.
The SKM, meanwhile, condemned the Delhi police imposing section 144 on farmers coming from Assam, claiming that despite all the adversity and obstacles posed by the administration, those farmers would surely reach Muzaffarnagar.
