The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad was named after the More than 40 people including children died on suspicion of dengue fever in the last days.
CMO Neeta Kulshrestha was transferred to Aligarh and Hapur CMO Dr. Dinesh Premi was commissioned in Firozabad.
Up to 44 people, including 40 children, have reportedly died of suspected dengue in the district in the past 10-12 days.
BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad Manish Asija said on Tuesday: “Last night [Monday] There were three deaths, while there were two deaths on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 44, “added camps have been set up in 25 affected locations.
Asija said on Sunday that since April 22-23 August more than 40 children died of dengue in the district, and blamed the state health department and the local community for the “tragedy”.
A team of 15 doctors arrived in Firozabad from Lucknow and met with officials from the district administration and the health department. It also conducted tests in the affected areas of the district.
The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, visited some dengue patients in the district on Monday.
“Child deaths are being investigated by a team from King George’s Medical University in Lucknow and a surveillance team so that the causes can be determined,” he said.
The prime minister also told reporters that the first case was discovered on August 18.
Meanwhile, District Judge Chandra Vijay Singh has ordered closure of all schools for grades 1 to 8 up to September 6th because of the suspected outbreak.
In his order issued on Monday evening, the district judge said it would apply to all state and non-state schools and coaching facilities.
He also warned against strict measures against anyone who does not abide by the order.
