Vicky Kaushal announced that his upcoming film Sardar Udham will be released on Amazon Prime Video this October. The actor used social media to make the announcement. The film was originally scheduled to hit theaters in January of this year. The film was formerly called Sardar Udham Singh, but now the makers have removed the Singh from its name. Directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, the film also stars Amol Parashar.

Sardar Udham is the cinematic portrayal of the life of the freedom fighter by Sardar Udham Singh, best known for the 1940 assassination of former Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O’Dwyer. The murder was intended to avenge the brutal Jallianwala Bagh massacre that took place in Amritsar on April 13, 1919.
Sardar Udham Singh was originally scheduled to appear in January 2021. However, the film is now being released on Amazon Prime Video.
