SUBMIT BABUL SUPRIYO FORMAL WITHDRAWAL
Babul Supriyo resigned as Minister of State for the Environment, Forests and Climate Change in August. In a long Facebook post he announced his decision to get out of politics. He had made it clear that he would not join any other party and would continue to be a “team player”.
Babul Supriyo’s post came after he was dismissed from the Union cabinet in July, which the Asansol MP recognized as one of the reasons for his decision.
“The question that will be asked is why I left politics. Is there a link to the lost ministerial post? Yes, there is. In a way, there is a link,” he had said.
Babul Supriyo’s alleged feud with West Bengal BJP leader Dilip Ghosh was also cited as one of the reasons that led to his decision to get out of politics.
Months after announcing his decision to quit politics and claiming that he would not join any other political party, Supriyo joined TMC, claiming that he would come back to serve Bengal.
