Haven’t been summoned, in Delhi for different purpose, says Sameer Wankhede amid pay-off charge in Aryan case


Sameer Wankhede, zone manager of the Narcotics Control Bureau Mumbai Unit, arrived in Delhi on Monday evening and told the media that he was because of the Blackmail charges against him.

“I was not called. I came here for a different reason,” he was quoted by ANI as saying. Sameer Wankhede added: “The allegations against me are baseless.”

EXPRESSION AGAINST SAMEER WANKHEDE

On Sunday, an independent witness in the Mumbai drug case alleged that Rs 25 crore was requested on behalf of Sameer Wankhede for the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan. Aryan was arrested in the case on Octoder 3rd.

Prabhakar Sail, the independent witness in the case, also said in a notarized affidavit that he was forced to sign a blank panchnama.

Following these allegations, the NCB issued a public statement stating that the issue had been referred to the Agency’s Director-General. Sameer Wankhede denied all allegations and wrote a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner Seek protection from “hasty legal proceedings”. On Monday the NCB announced that an investigation had been opened against Sameer Wankhede.

WANKHEDES TRIP TO DELHI

In the midst of all this, Sameer Wankhede arrived in New Delhi, leading many to believe that his visit to the state capital had something to do with the allegations made against him and the investigations under way.

However, Sameer Wankhede is reported to be attending a review meeting at NCB headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday. He will also attend a regularly scheduled meeting on his deputation to the NCB.

According to sources, he will likely meet the NCB boss on Tuesday.
