Pune police have confirmed the arrest of Kiran Gosavi – an independent NCB witness in the Mumbai drug debate – and said he was being questioned in connection with a fraud case. His arrest came three days after he said he offered to surrender in Lucknow on Monday, but police did not accept his surrender.
Gosavi was seen in one Selfie with the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan following NCB raids on a cruise ship that resulted in the arrest of Aryan and several others earlier this month.
Gosavi, who fled after the Pune police wrote a circular against him relating to a Fraud case 2018, claimed his life was threatened in Maharashtra.
He ran a company called KPG Dreamz Solutions that promised jobs abroad for aspirants from various fields. The company used social media platforms for advertising.
The case came after one such aspirant accused Gosavi of deceiving him for Rs 3.09 lakh on the pretext of a job in a hotel in Malaysia. Upon arrival in Malaysia, the aspirant learned that he had been betrayed by Kiran Gosavi.
In an address to the media, NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh confirmed that Kiran Gosavi and a Manish Bhanushali had witnessed the agency during and after the raid that led to the arrest of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchantt and six others.
