NCB zone director Sameer Wankhede has issued a press release against Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik’s tweets about his Muslim name and caste certificate, saying his father is Hindu and his mother is Muslim.

Sameer Wankhede said in a statement on Monday: “I want to express that my father Sh. Dnyandev Kachruji Wankhede will retire on June 30, 2007 as Senior Police Inspector of State Excise Department, Pune. My father is Hindu and my late mother, Mrs. Zaheeda, was a Muslim. “

“I belong to a composite, multi-religious and secular family in true Indian tradition and I am proud of my heritage. I also married Dr. Shabana Qureshi in 2006 in a civil marriage under the Special Marriage Act 1954. We both divorced in 2016 by a civil court under the Special Marriage Act. I married Shiimati Kranti Dinanath Redkar later in 2017, ”said Sameer Wankhede.

Nawab Malik, who has been prosecuting Sameer Wankhede since Aryan Khan’s arrest, has now claimed that the NCB officer is a Muslim.

Nawab Malik has also hinted that Wankhede faked his caste certificate to pack the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) job below the planned caste quota.

Nawab Malik tweeted a birth certificate allegedly showing that Sameer Wankhede was born as Sameer Dawood Wankhede. He also shared a photo of his nikaah with Shabana Qureshi.

In response to the tweets: “The posting of my personal documents on Twitter is defamatory in nature and an unnecessary intrusion into my family’s privacy. It is meant to slander me, my family, my father and my late mother. The series of actions by the Hon’ble Minister over the past few days has placed tremendous mental and emotional pressure on me and my family. I am pained by the nature of personal, defamatory and slanderous attacks. “
