Protesting farmers will celebrate Diwali outside PM Modi’s residence if govt removes them: SKM leader

After the Delhi police removed barricades from the protest spots on the Ghazipur and Tikri borders, SKM leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni warned on Sunday that if the government “tries to take them off, the peasants will celebrate Diwali in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence to expel from there ”.

“If the government tries to evict farmers from protest sites, the farmers will celebrate Diwali in front of the prime minister’s residence,” said Gurnam Singh Chaduni, chairman of the SKM and Haryana president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU).

On thursday and friday, Delhi police removed barricades and barbed wire of peasants’ protest places on the borders of Ghazipur and Tikri. They were installed 10 months ago to prevent farmers protesting the center’s three agricultural laws from marching towards the state capital.
