Former Pakistani captain and the country’s current Prime Minister Imran Khan has interacted with the team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, skipper Babar Azam said on Saturday. Pakistan meets India in Dubai on Sunday.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam said Saturday that the country’s Prime Minister Imran Khan interacted with the team and shared his experience of the 1992 World Cup triumph.
Imran shared his experience with the team when he led Pakistan to their first World Cup triumph in 1992.
“Before we came, we had a meeting and in it he (Imran) had shared his experiences about what his mindset was at the 1992 World Cup, what his body language and that of the team were,” said Babar on the eve of his team’s clash Arch-rivals India.
The Pakistani skipper was asked if the Prime Minister had given a message ahead of the Super 12 game against India.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja had a virtual meeting with the players and advised them to give their 100 percent in the tournament.
“Look, the chairman told us, ‘the calmer you hold yourself and the simpler you keep things the better it gets.’
“Let the outside things stay outside and let them not come inside. Keep believing in yourself and give your hundred percent a day, ”added the 27-year-old Babar.
Pakistan will face India in the Group 2 opening match at Dubai Cricket Stadium on Sunday. India did not lose a World Cup match against Pakistan in either the one-day or T20 format. But Pakistan has been unbeaten in six T20s in the stadium since 2016.
“We know the conditions very well,” said Pakistani captain Babar Azam at a press conference before the tournament. “We know how the wicket will behave and what adjustments the batters have to make.
“The day who plays the better cricket wins. If you ask me, we’ll win.”
