After a recent newspaper report sparked speculation about Mukesh Ambani and his family’s plans to move to London, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) issued a statement on Friday to put an end to rumors about its chairman.
“A recent report in a newspaper sparked unjustified speculation on social media about the Ambani family’s plans to partially live in Stoke Park, London. RIL wants to make it clear that the Chairman and his family have no plans to move or live in London or anywhere else. ”“ The statement said.
In addition, the corporate statement added that Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Limited recently acquired the Stoke Park property in London to transform the historic property into a “premier golf and sports resort”.
The Ambanis bought the Stoke Park property for Rs. 592 billion earlier this year. The property has 49 bedrooms, a state-of-the-art medical facility run by a UK doctor and other luxury facilities.
“This acquisition will strengthen the group’s rapidly growing consumer business. At the same time, it will also expand the presence of India’s famous hospitality industry worldwide,” the company said in a statement.
The RIL statement came after a recent news report claimed the Ambani family planned to split their time between India and the UK. It said that the Ambanis would move to the 300-acre Stoke Park estate in London.
