The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) India has decided to change their Protest against the postponement of the NEET-PG consultation in 2021. After a meeting with state representatives of the RDA on Saturday, the association announced its decision to continue the “withdrawal from the OPD services”.

In a statement, FORDA said: “Following a mutual consensus at the meeting with state RDA officials, it was decided that the withdrawal from OPD services will continue. A national review meeting will be held on Monday (November 29). “

It is noteworthy that only the general practitioners will not care for the OPD patients. Senior doctors and paramedics will continue to offer their services in the OPD during the strike.

According to FORDA, the protest led to a nationwide agitation on Saturday, in which over 10,000 resident doctors took part in the strike. The strike hampered OPD services across India.

Meanwhile, FORDA officials met with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday. The Minister of Health assured that the Union government would submit a response to the Supreme Court in the coming week and would continue to request an urgent hearing on the matter.

However, the association has chosen to continue the strike and not participate in the OPD, although other hospital services continue to operate unhindered.

FORDA had decided to go on strike to protest against the postponement of PG deliberations for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) in 2021.

“The nation’s already overworked and exhausted resident doctors, who have been on the front lines since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, waited patiently until the 25th, had said in a statement.
