Pakistani Babar Azam was only the first captain to score three half centuries in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Tuesday.

The productive Pakistani captain is glowing with the bat in the ongoing tournament. The right-hander scored a risk-free 49-ball-70 against Namibia in Abu Dhabi. Undefeated Pakistan won the throw and chose to beat Namibia. The couple Babar and Mohammed Rizwan put in 113 runs for the opening Wicket.

Babar scored a brisk 68 fail in Pakistan’s 10-wicket win over arch-rival India. The win was Pakistan’s first win over India at a T20 World Cup, dating back to 2007, when India won the opening tournament by beating Pakistan in the final. Pakistan won the 2009 edition.

Babar scored a brisk 51 against Afghanistan before Asif Ali smashed four sixes in an over to help Pakistan register a five-wicket win.

Interestingly, the couple Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam were also the first couple to bring together 1,000 runs in a calendar year at T20 International.

The duo also put up 4th-century booths in 2021, most in a calendar year, including three over 150 booths.

Pakistan went with an unchanged team for the fourth game in a row after successfully defeating arch-rivals India, New Zealand and Afghanistan in the Super 12.

At the throw, captain Babar Azam said he wanted to test his bowlers before the knockout stage, but warned his team not to “get complacent” against Namibia, which defeated Scotland.
