The police suspect the role of the PFI subsidiary SDPI in the murder of an RSS employee in Kerala. Areas in Tamil Nadu affected by SDPI will be investigated.
On Monday, RSS activist Pramuk Sanjith, from Elappully, Palakkad, Kerala, was hacked to death by a group in front of his wife.
The probe into the Assassination of an RSS worker, Sanjith, in the Palakkad district of Kerala has spread to Tamil Nadu after police suspected the role of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) – the political offshoot of the Islamist party Popular Front of India (PFI).
Police are investigating areas in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu where the SDPI party has influence. Police are also investigating whether Sanjith was hacked to death by a Coimbatore SDPI group.
After the murder, CCTV footage was collected from areas within a five kilometer radius of the incident. The police found that a white car was found at the scene of the crime at around 6:30 a.m. on the day of the crime. The police suspect that the attackers came by car.
Based on the CCTV footage, the police suspect that the car passed the border between Kerala and Tamil Nadu near Thathamangalam and that the defendant could be from Coimbatore.
Police believe the attackers from Palakkad went to Thrissur and returned to Coimbatore after depositing their weapons in a place called Kannannur. Police believe this was an attempt to mislead the investigation. Police said they had seized the weapons used in the murder but were unable to reach the suspects or the details of the car.
Four sacked swords from Kannannur were found on the Palakkad-Thrissur National Highway. The swords were tied in a sack and thrown under a small bridge on the approach road in Kannannur. The sack was found by one of the locals. The swords were stained with blood, and the presence of a white car in the spot was also confirmed.
