Purvanchal E-way opening: PM says UP will transform under BJP, previous govts only cared about their family

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked previous Uttar Pradesh governments when he inaugurated the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Modi said that after looking at developments in the state today, he can confidently say that UP’s fortunes have begun to change and will change drastically in the future under the BJP government. “UP will change under the BJP as the previous governments only looked after their family’s wealth.”

“The politics that are carried out in UP, the way in which governments have been run for a long time – they did not pay attention to the comprehensive and holistic development of UP. A region of UP and its people were abandoned to the mafia and poverty I am delighted that this region is writing a new chapter in development today, “said PM Modi.

Speaking about the importance of the country’s security as its prosperity, Prime Minister Modi said the Purvanchal Expressway has now become another power for the Indian Air Force in an emergency. “The roar of these planes will also be to the people who ignored the nation’s defense infrastructure for decades,” he said.

PM Modi said he began delving into the minutest details of UP’s development when he became a state MP. “7 to 8 years ago I was surprised by the situation, meticulous details of its development – as a member of parliament, as prime minister.”

He went on to say: “I have initiated a lot of projects for UP. Poor people got Pucca houses, toilets were secured in their houses so that women did not have to get out to relieve themselves that every house should have electricity – many things like that were necessary, to be included here. “

Prime Minister Modi blamed the previous UP governments for delaying developments in the state. “But it pains me that the UP government at the time did not cooperate. They were also afraid of upsetting their vote banks by standing next to me in public. I used to come as a member of parliament, they disappeared after they had met me at the airport. They were ashamed because they had nothing to show but work. “

He said the government before Yogi Adityanth’s government wronged the people of UP. “The way in which they discriminated in development, the way in which they just helped their family – the people at UP will take you out of the path of government development permanently, that’s what you did in 2017.” said PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed on the runway of the Purvanchal Expressway in an IAF C-130 Hercules aircraft to inaugurate the highway in Uttar Pradesh. Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the Prime Minister on the runway.

The 3.2 km long runway was built on the expressway to facilitate the emergency landing of fighter planes.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the 341 km long expressway that connects the state capital Lucknow with Ghazipur. It was built at an estimated cost of Rs 22,500 crore.
