The result of surveys on three Lok Sabha seats and 29 assembly stations reiterated the notion that the ruling parties outperform the opposition in a by-election, with a few notable exceptions.
On October 30th of this year, votes were held for three parliamentary seats, one each in Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
Lok Sabha polls
- In Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Shiv Sena Candidate Kalaben Delkar won with a comfortable Margin of 51,269 votes in front of Mahesh Gavit from BJP. Kalaben Delkar is the wife of the late Mohan Delkar, the independent MP for Dadra & Nagar Haveli, whose death in February this year led to the by-election of this reserved constituency. the Shiv Sena secured 59.53 percent of the total votes cast, followed by the BJP with 33.68 percent, and congress with 3 percent.
- The ruling BJP in Himachal Pradesh suffered a loss of face after losing to Congress in the bath Parliamentary constituency that falls within the district of CM Jai Ram Thakurs’ birth. The Congress had put the wife of the former Himachal chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Pratibha Singh, against Khushal Thakur of the BJP. Singh defeated Thakur, a war hero of Kargil, by a Margin of 7,490 votes. According to the election commission congress secured 49.14 percent the total number of votes cast, followed by the BJP with 48.14 percent.
- In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP succeeded in doing that Khandwa Lok Sabha seat, but with a smaller lead compared to the 2019 polls. BJP candidate Gyaneshwar Patil won the by-election of a Margin of 82,140 votes before his closest rival, Rajnarayan Singh Purni from Congress. the BJP secured 49.85 percent of the total votes cast, followed by the congress with 43.38 percent.
Congregation polls
Andhra Pradesh
The ruling Congress Party Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSRCP) retained that badvel The assembly’s constituency with its candidate Dasari Sudha wins 90,000 more votes as their closest rival, Panathala Suresh of the BJP.
Basi Sudha is the widow of the incumbent YSRCP MLA Dr. Venkata Subbiah, who died of an illness in March of this year.
A reserved constituency, Badvel, is in the Kadapa district, a stronghold of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. the YSRCP secured 76.25 percent of total votes in Badvel, followed by the BJP with 14.73 percent and congress with 4.24 percent.

Assam
The regulation BJP maintained three of the five seats of the assembly in Assam, where polls were held on October 30th while his ally UPPL managed to make a claim on that Gossaigaon and Tamalpur Constituencies.
Rupjyoti Kurmi from BJP won the Maraini seat with one Margin of 40,104 Votes while BJP’s Phani Talukdar defeated Congress candidate Sailendra Das in Bhabanipur. Similarly, Sushanta Borgohain of BJP from Thowra won through a Margin of over 30,000 votes.
Overall that is BJP secured 29.85 percent of votes in all five constituencies, followed by the Other with 43.85 percent, congress with 16.77 percent and AIUDF with 4.39 percent.
Bihar
After the return of party leader Lalu Prasad Yadav to Patna, the RJD fought a tough battle, but could not win either Kusheshwar Asthan or Tarapur Assembly constituencies.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumars JD (U) secured 46.22 percent of the total votes in both seats, followed by the RJD with 40.72 percent.
the edge the victory in Kusheshwar Asthan was almost 12,000 voteswhile the same in Tarapur was a little too much 3,000 votes.

Haryana
Many eyes were on her Ellenabad Congregation survey on Haryana, where Abhay Singh Chautala of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Gobind Kanda of the BJP through a. defeated Margin of over 6,700 votes.
The vote on this seat was made necessary by the departure of Abhay Singh Chautala who resigned from the State Assembly in protest against the centre’s three agricultural laws.
the INLD secured 43.49 percent the total number of votes cast, followed by the BJP with 39.05 percent and congress with 13.78 percent.
Himachal Pradesh
the congress keep two seats – Fatehpur and Arki – when wrestling the Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly seat of the ruling BJP.

In Jubbal-Kotkhai, the BJP candidate even lost her deposit.
the congress secured 48.90 percent of the total votes of all constituencies, followed by the BJP with 28.05 percent.
Karnataka
The ruling BJP won the sindagi Assembly seat on which votes were held following the death of the incumbent JD (S) MLA.
However, the Congress succeeded in the Stupid Assembly constituency of the BJP, where the CM Udasi of the ruling party against Srinivas Mane of the Congress party through a. lost Margin of 7,373 votes.
the BJP secured 51.86 percent of the total votes in both constituencies, followed by the congress with 44.76 percent.
Madhya Pradesh
The ruling BJP has lost Raigaon (reserved) seat for the congress, but was able to fight for it Prithvipur and Jobat (reserved) constituencies of the opposition party in the state.
In Prithvipur, the BJP relied on Shishupal Yadav, who had recently left the Samajwadi party. Yadav defeated Nitendra Singh Rathore of Congress by a Margin of 15,687 votes.
the BJP secured 47.58 percent of the total votes of all four constituencies, followed by the congress with 45.45 percent.
Maharashtra
In Maharashtra, Congress kept them Delgur (reserved) Assembly seat where his candidate Jitesh Raosaheb Antapurkar secured himself 41,917 more votes as his closest rival, Subhash Pirajirao Sabne from the BJP.
Delgur’s by-election became necessary due to the death of Jitesh’s father, the incumbent Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar.
the congress secured 57.03 percent of the total votes on that seat, followed by the BJP with 35.06 percent.
Meghalaya
In Meghalaya, BJP ally NPP won two seats in the assembly – Mawryngkneng and Rajabala. At the same time is the ally of the NPP UDP managed to lay claim to the constituency of the Mawphlang Assembly, where his candidate met one Margin of nearly 5,000 votes.
the NPP secured 36.13 percent of the total votes of all three seats, followed by the congress with 36.18 percent.
Mizoram
BJP ally MNF won that Tuirial Assembly poll in which his candidate K Laldawngliana defeated Laltlanmawia of the Zoram People’s Movement and Chalrosanga Ralte of Congress.
the MNF secured 39.89 percent of the total votes in that constituency, followed by the congress with 26.92 percent.

Nagaland
In Nagaland, S Keoshu Yimchunger’s Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party won that Shamator Chessore Assembly constituency.
Rajasthan
The regulation congress maintained Vallabhnagar while wringing the Dhariawad Seat of the BJP by a Margin of 18,725 votes.
According to the EBI congress secured 37.51 percent of the total votes in both constituencies, followed by the BJP with 18.8 percent.
Telangana
In Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi by CM KCR (TRS) lost the Huzurabad Survey to the BJP from a Margin of around 24,000 votes.
The BJP had set up the former Telangana Minister of Health and KCR advisor Eatala Rajender against Gellu Srinivas Yadav of the TRS.
During the judgment TRS secured 40.38 percent of the total votes in Huzurabad, the BJP managed to secure 51.96 percent.

West Bengal
The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) kept two of his seats – Khardah and Gosaba – while at the same time, Wrestling Dinhata and Santipur of the BJP.
TMC candidates in Dinhata and Gosaba have won massively Margin of 1.64 lakh votes and 1.43 lakh votes, or Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien, said the BJP candidates had lost their deposits on three of the four seats in the assembly where elections were held on October 30th.
According to the EBI TMC secured 74.99 percent of the total of votes cast in all four constituencies, followed by the BJP with 14.5 percent and VPI (M) with 7.28 percent.
