Congress leaders strike back on Mamata Banerjee
Opposition leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called out Mamata Banerjee for her “There is no UPA remark”. “Doesn’t Mamata Banerjee know what UPA is? I think she started the madness. She thinks that all of India has started singing ‘Mamata, Mamata’. But India does not mean Bengal, and Bengal alone does not mean India. Your tactics in the recent polls (in West Bengal) are slowly being exposed, “ANI quoted Chowdhury as saying.
Chowdhury claimed that the UPA government had six TMC ministers in 2012 and “Mamata Banerjee made some excuses to withdraw her support for the UPA”. “She wanted to break the UPA government at the time,” he claimed.
“But she didn’t make it because there were other parties that immediately supported the government. It’s an old conspiracy of her own. Today her strength has increased because Modi ji stands behind her. So she’s making every effort to help Congress to weaken, “he added.
The Chairman of the Congress, Kapil Sibal, said: “Without the Congress, the UPA will be a body without a soul. It is time to show the unity of the opposition.”
Congress leaders also called on Mamata Banerjee for her veiled excavations at Rahul Gandhi. “No single party can fight the BJP by directly or indirectly criticizing Rahul Gandhi if that party continues to reflect on its political gain and personal ambitions. Congress is the only viable option for the country and democracy, ”he said in a statement.
Thorat said Congress, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, has fought fearlessly against the BJP government for the past seven years.
“He and his entire family have been personally attacked by the BJP and other parties. Defamatory campaigns were carried out against him, but Rahul Gandhi did not give in.
“He became the voice of the poor and continued to fight the Modi government with all his might, and the people of the country accepted his point today,” said the former Maharashtra congress leader.
Secretary General of Congress KC Venugopal said “Beating the BJP without Congress is just a dream” for Mamata Banerjee.
“Everyone knows the reality of Indian politics. To think that without Congress everyone can defeat BJP is just a dream, ”Congress chief KC Venugopal told ANI.

The opposition leader of the Congress in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge told ANI: “We have tried to involve them (TMC) in various sociopolitical issues in which the Congress has made its name. The opposition should not split and fight among themselves, we have to fight “together against the BJP.”
