Four days after the family of a seven-year-old girl in a village in. had filed a missing person report Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, the body of a minor was found in a sugar cane field. According to the police, the girl was kidnapped. raped and murdered.
The body of the deceased irrelevant was found by a farmer who went to his field on Friday. The farmer started looking for the body when a foul odor emitted from the area, according to a report published in the Times of India (TOI).
The report suggests the girl went missing on December 22nd when she was playing outside her home. Her family members filed a missing person report after she disappeared Wednesday night.
Police confirm rape, murder
Although two police teams were on duty to track down the missing girl, she was nowhere to be found. Her body was found Friday night in a sugar cane field just 2 kilometers from her home.
The autopsy was performed on Sunday, after which it was confirmed that the victim had been raped and killed.
Additional police superintendent Vidya Sagar Mishra confirmed the case of rape and murder after the kidnapping, told TOI that the victim’s body had multiple injuries. Mishra said the police have targeted a few suspects and expect to clear the case soon.
Family seeks justice
The victim was the youngest of three siblings and belonged to a minority community. The victim’s mother was quoted by TOI as saying that she had looked everywhere for her daughter but could not find her. Your father is a vegetable seller.
“It was only after two sleepless nights that I found out that her body was found in a sugar cane field. I want justice for my daughter,” she said.
An FIR under the relevant sections of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC), Rape, Murder and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POSCO) The law has been registered and further investigations are ongoing.
