One day after the Association of Resident Doctors (FORDA) made three demands to end protests against the delay in the NEET-PG consultation and the alleged mistreatment of doctors by the police, the body decided to continue the strike until the police Discuss a ” written apology for your conduct ”.
In a statement on Wednesday, FORDA said: “Today was the 13th day of the agitation called by FORDA to accelerate the NEET-PG consultation in 2021. After meeting FORDA representatives in Nirman Bhawan [MoHFW] The Honorable Minister of Health of the Union addressed the media yesterday on the matter. “
“Since our demands to accelerate the NEET-PG consultation and to withdraw FIR have not yet been met by the authorities concerned, we have decided to continue the agitation,” the statement continues.

A lawsuit was also filed with the Supreme Court on Wednesday to bring forward the planned hearing on a case related to the EWS quota on NEET-PG recordings.

FORDA demands
At a press conference on Tuesday, FORDA President Dr. Manish: “Firstly, we would like the authorities concerned to ensure that we have a consultation appointment immediately after the Supreme Court hearing on January 6th, as the police mistreated the doctors. Third, we want the withdrawal of the FIRs registered against demonstrators. “
Meanwhile, patients continue to bear the brunt of the ongoing doctors’ strike.
After resident doctors across the country continued their protest against the delay in NEET-PG consultation and warned against suspending “all health services” from Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Health held an emergency meeting on Tuesday with a 12-member delegation of FORDA officials convened.
Previously, resident doctors from several hospitals held a march near Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Monday evening to protest against the delay in the NEET-PG consultation. The AIIMS Resident Doctors Association said in its official statement that it “condemned the violence committed by the police today against the doctors peacefully protesting for the acceleration of the NEET-PG consultation”.

“With the brutal beatings and imprisonment of doctors, the government and police have hit a new low. The medical profession has shown exemplary sacrifices for this nation at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic caused a bloodbath,” it said.
In Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and other parts of the country there were also demonstrations in solidarity with the protesting resident doctors.
On December 24, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to resolve the NEET-PG advisory crisis and increase the workforce to address a possible third wave of Covid-19 infections.
It should be noted that the original NEET PG exam was scheduled for January 2021 but was postponed in light of the first and second waves of Covid-19 and held on September 12, 2021, the letter said. However, due to legal obstacles from the Supreme Court, counseling was denied, resulting in a shortage of 45,000 frontline doctors, the letter said.
