When asked about the differences in working styles between Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, Scindia said, “I think it is difficult to compare the two. Scindia is a senior minister in the Narendra Modi government with a past in a non-Bharatiya Janata party. He had served as Union Minister under former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2020 and became Union Minister in the Modi government in July of that year.

Commenting on the reasons for leaving Congress, Scindia said, “Congress is a party that does not conduct admission or exit interviews.”

Scindia’s resignation from Congress led to the overthrow of the party’s government in Madhya Pradesh last year. More than 25 Congressional MLAs had left the party to join Scindia in joining the BJP.

In the polls, Scindia secured the victory of the majority of the breakaway leaders, some of whom were accepted into the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. The polls also brought Scindia to the central government as Minister of Civil Aviation.
