Congress released its first list of candidates for the Uttarakhand assembly elections on Saturday. The party announced its candidates for 53 of the 70 seats in the Uttarakhand Assembly in its first list.
The Chairman of the Uttarakhand Congress, Ganesh Godiyal, will contest the general election in the Srinagar constituency. Meanwhile, Yashpal Arya and his son Sanjeev Arya, who left the BJP and joined Congress in October last year, will face elections in Bajpur and Nainital constituencies respectively.

the The 2022 Uttarakhand Assembly Elections will be held in a single phase on 14th of February. The votes will be counted on March 10th.
The last general election (2017) in Uttarakhand was held in a single phase and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 57 of the state’s 70 constituencies.
This time around, the Uttarakhand Assembly polls are likely to witness a three-way battle between the ruling BJP, the Harish Rawat-led Congress and Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi party.
