Actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwaryaa have announced their decision to separate after 18 years of marriage. Dhanush took to Twitter to announce the split from Aishwaryaa, superstar Rajinikanth’s older daughter.
Dhanush wrote: “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and mutual well-wishers. The journey has been growth, understanding, adjustment and adjustment. Today we are at a place where our paths separate.”

Dhanush also urged people to respect their decision and give them the privacy they need. Aishwaryaa, who posted the statement on Instagram, said: “No caption required. Only your understanding and love are necessary”.
The duo married when Dhanush was only 21 and Aishwaryaa was 23. They are parents to two boys, Yatra and Linga.
