India logs less than 3 lakh Covid cases, positivity rate falls to 15.52%


India’s daily Covid cases have fallen below three lakh and the positivity rate has been recorded at 15.52 percent.

India has registered 2,55,874 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours, down 50,190 from yesterday.

India has registered 2,55,874 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours, down 50,190 from yesterday. The daily positivity rate has dropped to 15.52 percent. India crossed the 3 lakh mark on Jan. 20 with a daily increase of 3,17,532 cases.

On Monday, India recorded 3.06.064 new daily cases of Covid-19.

A total of 614 deaths and 2,67,753 recoveries have been reported in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate is currently 93.15 percent, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,70,71,898.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 22,36,842, at 5.62 percent.

A total of 162.92 million vaccine doses have been administered so far as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.

A total of 71.88 crore of tests have been conducted to date. 16.49.108 tests were performed in the last 24 hours.

India began administering a precautionary dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to healthcare workers, frontline workers including staff deployed for electoral service and those aged 60 and over with comorbidities from January 10 while the country experienced a surge in coronavirus infections fueled by the omicron variant of the virus.
