Maharashtra govt revises Covid rules, allows gyms, beauty salons to operate at 50% capacity


To take the pressure off beauty salons and gyms, the Maharashtra government has revised the state’s Covid-19 restrictions and allowed them to run at 50 percent capacity.

The Maharashtra government on Sunday revised the state’s Covid-19 restrictions and allowed beauty salons and gyms to operate at 50 percent.

In the previous order published on Saturday, the state government ordered the complete closure of beauty salons in the state while allowing hair salons to operate 50 percent.

In the revised ordinance, the state government announced that the beauty salons will be grouped with the hairdressing salons and, subject to restrictions, can be operated at 50 percent capacity.

In the beauty salons, only those activities are allowed that do not require anyone to remove the masks, it says in the changed order.

Gyms are also allowed to remain open to a 50 percent capacity, subject to the use of masks during any activity.

“Only fully vaccinated people are allowed to use these services. All employees employed in the company must be fully vaccinated, ”says the regulations for fitness studios and beauty salons.

The new restrictions will come into effect in Maharashtra on Monday January 10th.
