A boatswain attacked a health worker in Bihar when he was asked to get vaccinated against Covid-19. The video showed the man fiercely resisting the vaccine, saying he would not be bitten. He even threatened and attacked a health worker. In another video, a man climbed a tree to avoid being stung. These videos highlight the issue of vaccine hesitancy at a time when the country is experiencing a massive spike in Covid cases.
In this video, the health worker could be seen trying to convince the man to get the vaccine when he refused to move. The boatswain kept saying, “Hum nahi lagayenge [I won’t get jabbed].” He was finally convinced to take the vaccine.

In another video from Bihar’s Ballia, a man climbed a tree to avoid being vaccinated. The video showed health officials urging him to come down and get the vaccine. Atul Dubey, Block Development Officer, Reoti said: “A man climbed a tree because he didn’t want to take the vaccine but agreed to take the vaccine after being persuaded by our team.”
