Interior Minister Amit Shah also wished the nation. Home Minister Amit Shah wished the country on Republic Day: “I salute all the soldiers who gave their lives to keep the pride, unity and integrity of the Indian Republic intact.”

India is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day today. The Republic Day parade on Rajpath in Delhi will take place this year 16 marching contingents, 17 military bands and 25 tableaus various states, union territories, departments and the armed forces. India’s military might and cultural diversity are showcased.
Celebrations began on Jan. 23, the 125th birthday of Netaji Subha Chandra Bose, when PM Modi unveiled a hologram statue of the legendary freedom fighter near India Gate.
This year’s Republic Day event is part of the Center’s Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 years of independence. The country will witness the largest overflight involving 75 planes and helicopters.
Due to Covid concerns, Delhi Police Children under the age of 15 and people who have not been vaccinated are excluded with both doses of taking part in this year’s Republic Day parade, which starts at 10:30 am.
