Arvind Kejriwal, national leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, said in a dig at the Congress on Monday 17 January that the Grand Old Party was the hope for the Bharatiya Janata Party and not for the people of Goa.

His comments came in response to the congressman P Chidambaram’s tweet on Monday, which said that AAP and the Trinamool Congress would only help split the anti-BJP vote, thereby helping the Saffron party. He said this has been “confirmed” by Arvind Kejriwal.
Chidambaram, the Congress’ chief election observer for the Goa Assembly elections, appealed to Goan voters to vote for regime change and elect the Congress.

His remarks came a day after Kejriwal said that Party ready to be part of coalition government in Goa if the February 14 general election would raise a broken mandate.
Kejriwal said, “Stop crying, sir. Goans will vote where they see hope.” “Cong is the hope for BJP, not for Goans. 15 of our 17 MLAs moved to BJP. Cong Guarantee – Every vote to Cong is securely transmitted to BJP. To choose BJP, pass through Cong for safe delivery [sic],” he added.
With assembly elections fast approaching, Congress and the AAP were locked in a bitter struggle, particularly in Punjab.
