The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its manifesto for the Uttrakhand Assembly polls on Friday. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal also released an affidavit which allows people to file a case against the party if the guarantees are not fulfilled.
In its poll manifesto, AAP promised to make Uttarakhand corruption-free and increase the state budget by five times. “The budget for education will be increased to 25 per cent of the total budget of the state,” it said.
AAP also aims to provide 300 units of free electricity every month and a 24-hour power supply to every household.
If elected to power, the AAP said it will give Rs 5,000 per month to every household until employment is provided to a member. It also said Rs 1,000 will be given to women above 18 years of age.
“Will provide world-class education to every child. Children from government schools from Uttarakhand will also go to IIT and AIIMS,” AAP’s poll manifesto said.
“Free and best treatment will be available in every village. [We] will provide free pilgrimage for the elderly and make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of Hindus,” the manifesto said.
It also promised a government job for ex-servicemen. “General Bipin Rawat Armed Forces Preparatory Institute will be built to provide training for recruitment in the Army,” the party said.
AAP also said it will construct a sports university in Uttarakhand.
