Long before the world of EDMs and Insta reels, Disco King Bappi Lahiri revolutionized the 70’s era of Bollywood with his party numbers. No matter what, his songs were for everyone. Bappi da’s dhinchak music has been recreated many times for Generation Z. The veteran singer-composer died on February 15 at the age of 69. His cremation will be held today, February 17, at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Mumbai. The best way to remember Bappi Lahiri is by the unparalleled body of work he leaves behind. TAMMA TAMMA LOGE
In Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan danced to Tamma Tamma Again. It was a recreation of Bappi Lahiri’s rendition Tamma Tamma Loge. The original song starred Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit and was sung by Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal in the 1989 movie Thanedaar.

YAAR BINA CHAIN KAHA RE
S Janaki and Bappi Lahiri’s song from the 1985 film Saaheb is popular even today. It was based on Amrita Singh and Anil Kapoor. Many years later, the song perfectly fit into Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan, a film on same-sex love story.

DIL MY HO TUM
Bappi Lahiri’s 1987 composition Dil Mein Ho Tum from Satyamev Jayate returned as a revamped version in Soumik Sen’s Cheat India in 2018.

BHANKAS
Bappi Lahiri’s popular track Ek Aankh Maru Toh from the 1984 movie Tohfa was rehashed by Baaghi 3 makers. The song titled Bhankas was Bappi Lahiri’s last work as a singer.

We bet you started humming the song as soon as you read this title. The song from 1983’s Himmatwala was an instant hit. However, when the song was remade in 2013’s Himmatwala, it wasn’t recieved well as the original one.
